The materials we use
Kiuassuolan Lumo Oy uses high-quality, natural and responsibly sourced materials that emphasize the richness of Finnish nature and sustainable development.
Salts and soapstone are our most important natural materials. Atlantic sea salt and Himalayan rock salt are completely natural, untreated and rich in minerals and trace elements that support breathing, skin and general well-being.
Soapstone is an ancient natural material that offers excellent thermal properties and durability. It is sourced and processed in collaboration with responsible Finnish companies, such as Tulikivi and Hukka Design, which contributes to the sustainable and ecological use of nature.
The Finnish birch plywood in our Power Animal sauna heaters meets strict environmental, safety and ethical requirements, such as PEFC and FSC certifications, ensuring that the materials come from responsible sources.
The wild herbs in our artisan sauna drinks are all from Finland, and a large part of the herbs are hand-picked in Kainuu.
Our products are additive-free, delicious and handmade taste experiences for everyday life and celebrations.

Environmentally responsible packaging and operations
We use environmentally friendly and recyclable packaging materials in all our products. For example, Kiuassuolat require airtight and moisture-proof packaging, in which we strive to favor the most ecological solutions possible.
Our kraft bags are marked with the PET label, which guarantees their recyclability. We actively reduce waste and promote recycling.
We always ship our deliveries to retailers in recycled cardboard boxes whenever possible. We recognize that ecological responsibility is an ongoing journey and we still have a lot to improve. Our goal is to continually move in an even more ecological direction and do better for a more sustainable business.
Our company’s growth and financial foundation are also important, as they enable us to make environmentally responsible decisions. With just under a year of operations and growing with revenue funding, we have actively taken the steps that are currently realistic, but our commitment to sustainability and the circular economy does not stop there.
